May 2007 Newsletter:

Unlike last month, when the weather kept many shooters from turning out for the match, we had very good participation at our May shoot (even with a forecast for some inclement weather). When the dust settled, 82 cowboys and girls registered for the match.

Also, a record number of first-time shooters and visitors participated.

A record number of club members (47) were present for our annual club meeting after the match. We had an excellent meeting. Minutes will be sent to members soon. Some of the highlights of the meeting include a revision of our Bylaws and a report on our annual match. The latter was a great success and will be held again next year (2008) over the last (5th) weekend of March. Our territorial governor will be a member of our executive committee in the future and, like other members of the committee, will be elected annually. The new elected officers are:

One of our visitors, Middle Creek Kid, was the top gun for May. Congratulations pard. Marshall Too Tall placed second and Widowmaker again turned in a great performance coming in third (still shootin’ Gunfighter). Anvil was fourth (again) beating out another visitor (Johnny Morris from Texas). The rest of the top ten were: Rusty Spur Slim, O’Shea, Festus D. Deputy, Ottway Smith and Fiddleback.

Last Kiss regained the title of highest-ranked lady shooter. The other top ten ladies are Deadeye Diamond, Roma Jane, Feather Dancer, Donsie Darlin, Cookie Lynn and Triple J.

Seven shooters shot clean this month; Anvil, Double Eagle Dave, Fiddleback, Hombre Sin Nombre, Marshall Too Tall, Tennessee Mongo and Tennessee O.L. Dawg. Six shooters had four stages with no misses and 15 shooters had three clean stages.

Five Stages

Four Stages.
