Well,
the Smoky Mountain Shoot-Out and the Annual SMSS meeting
and elections are behind us for another year; Now
that I think about it that is not totally true on
the SMSO, we are already looking to next year and
working on the 2009 shoot.
Most
of our officers stayed on for another term. The only
change is Foreman where Fast Harley was elected after
El Carrera opted out to concentrate on the Shoot-Out
The
range is looking very good and I for one am very appreciative
to ORSA for the support and money they have poured
into the Action Pistol Range. Now if we can get a
little grass growing we will be in high cotton as
the saying goes. I also want to thank Preacher Red
for planting a few plants on the berms. If you look
around you will see some lilies and a few yucca plants.
We
are looking for scenario to add to our library of
stages. If you have one or some please get those to
Fast Harley for review. If you submit some stages
and they get changed around a little bit it is due
to safety and time. We can’t have a 50 second
stage in front of a 30 second stage or the long stage
gets backed up and it gets worse as the day progresses.
We
will be having a work day coming up in the near future
so watch the forum for the announcement.
I
am also starting a bullet order for X-Caliber, I will
take orders for about 6 – 8 weeks, so if you
need some lead send me an email or post on the forum
and I will add you to the order. I am waiting on pricing
now but if you are waiting on the price of lead to
go down … good luck. There are many bullet manufactures
either going out of business or not taking orders.
Candlelight Kid has been very steady on his bullet
supply and he also has started shooting with us and
is now a member of SMSS. I like to support our own
when we can.
Until
next time keep your powder dry and your lead down
range.
See everyone next month,
Long Days and Pleasant Nights
