Wow, what a day and what a great group
we had for our first shoot in 2008. We had 77 shooters
from all over our area. We had representatives from
Wartrace, Hooten Old Town, Possum Trot, Greeneville
Regulators, The Bitter Creek Rangers and of course
our brothers and sisters from the Mountain Marauders
and the Ocoee Rangers. I am sure there are a few clubs
I have left off and I apologize if I did. I want to
thank everyone for coming out and kicking our year
off in style. We also had at least 4 new shooters
to CAS and 2 regular shooters who shot with us for
the first time.
I
can not thank everyone enough for making everyone
feel welcome, in my morning talk I ask everyone that
if they saw a face they did not recognize to introduce
yourself and make them feel welcome. Man, you all
took my request and ran with it. If you read the forum,
everyone preformed like the friendly group we are.
We will reap the rewards from this out pouring of
friendliness with new shooters and new members.
I
have called a work day for this Saturday the 19th;
however, I do not want to work in adverse conditions
if I don’t have to. Please get on the forum
and let me know how you feel about working this Saturday
or do we want to work a few Sunday afternoons when
the weather is a littler friendlier.
The
Smoky Mountain Shoot-Out is fast approaching and we
are still working on a few loose ends. The main one
being a shoot through, we would like as many people
to shoot the main match as we possible but we will
be offering a shoot through to those that need it
or would rather work then shoot.
We
are also looking for volunteers to work the berms
as berm marshals. This is an easy job but will tie
you up for at least half the day or if you want to
work all day then we will use you. Please let Keystone
know if you are willing to work as a volunteer and
also if you want to be in the shoot through or not.
I
also forgot to announce that the member cost for the
SMSO shoot is $50, the same as in the past. This if
for all members of SMSS.
We
are working on getting some more pictures posted on
the webpage, just be patience and we will get them
posted as soon as we can. Getting pictures ready to
post is very time consuming to say the least.
Until next time keep your powder dry and your lead
down range.
See everyone next month,
Long Days and Pleasant Nights
