Ramblings from the Ramrod

October 2007

I hope everyone likes the new website!!!! There had been a lot of thought, planning and hard work to get to where we are and we plan to keep making it better. If you have any suggestions please get them to me or post something on the forum and we will take a look. You will have to register for the forum; we were not able to transfer the old forum over. We are looking for pictures that show the face of different cowboys if you have one or some you think will add to our photo album.

Congratulation to everyone who traveled to Ambush in Alabama and Wartrace for the Tennessee State Match this month; I saw some great finishes listed. You all done us proud. I hope you all had good shoots and got to meet a lot of fine people. I hope to hear all about it in the next few months.

There is a meeting for the Action Pistol Club of ORSA on Monday the 29th at 7:00. We will be meeting at Gander Mountain. If you would like to attend please feel free to show up.

We will be having a few work days in coming up. Watch the forum for dates.

We are looking for volunteers to work the Smoky Mountain Shoot-Out as parking lot workers, berm marshals, side matches, and various other jobs that come about during the shoot. Keystone is in charge of getting volunteers together and Last Kiss is in charge of side matches. I know Last Kiss already has about half the side matches covered but we still need workers.

If you have some stages you would like to see shot please write them down and get them to El Carrera, he will take as many as you have to offer. He will review them and work out any problems he sees and we will give it a try. As a suggestion, please do not stage the rifle last do to the low noise involved in some of the guns. The timers will not always pick up the rifle shots so we don’t want them shot last if we can help it.

Watch the forum to notice of range set-up for the November shoot. We try to set-up the Sunday before our shoot. It is a great time to get to know other cowboys better and a great time to get in a little practice. Or maybe just a great time to waist a lot of lead.

It was brought to my attention that I had neglected to welcome our latest cowgirl to the family. Donzie and Fiddleback have a wonder little princess named Cora, the whole family is doing wonderful and the baby is beautiful as far as I could tell, seeing as how I only hold babies after they reach a certain age. (Somewhere around 16 or 17 seems best for me.)

Tell next month,
